Institute of Metal Sciences, Equipment and Technologies “Academician A. Balevski” with Hydro-Aerodynamics Centre “Acad. A. Balevski” – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IMSETHC – BAS) and University of National and World Economy (UNWE-Sofia) developed a joint program for the course “VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT OF PHYSICAL PROTECTION SYSTEMS”, for the foreign students.
The course is a part of specialty „Nuclear security”, taught in English.
The course will take place in the premises of IMSETHC – BAS in the period between 02.12 – 03.12.2016
The main topics are:
1. RISK MANAGEMENT IN PHYSICAL PROTECTION
Key points to this topic will be:
- Estimating security risk;
- Risk reduction strategies;
- Cost effectiveness and acceptable risk;
- Impact of risk management decisions.
2. EVALUATION AND OPTIMIZATION OF PHYSICAL PROTECTION SYSTEM
Key points to this topic are:
- Probabilistic and graph-analytical methods in evaluation of physical protection systems;
- Reliability analysis;
- System effectiveness evaluation;
- Optimization methods in evaluating the effectiveness of;
- Decision making under risk and uncertainties; managing security risk.
