The BEEHIVE cell radio communication system consists of three type radio transceiver modules.
The radio network is designed to collect and relay information from all sensors located in the sensor field.

The network consist of three types radio transceivers:

  • Type I (transceiver) with range not less than 3 km in rough terrain for local sensor data harvesting.
  • Type II (retranslator) with range not less than 3 km in rough terrain for long range data retranslation.
  • Type III (transceiver) with range not less than 3 km in rough terrain for long range data acquisition and command center serial interface.

radio network structure

As autonomous sensors located in sensor field are designed to save battery power, the radio they are using is short range. This way is beneficial to harvest the sensor data with radio transceivers Type I placed each 1 km along the protected area and transceivers Type II placed each 3 km along the area and to the interior. The radio module type III serves as receiving module for the Command and Control center.
