The Bottom Mine PDM-250 is designed to be effective against marine surface vessels or submarines of any class. The functioning of its fuse is based upon a state-of-art analysis of the hydro acoustic, sonar and three-component magnetic sensors that the target generates.

The electronic block autonomously analyses the signals from sensor system according to pre-set complex algorithm and generates detonation command only if presence of target is detected above the mine.

The device contains a unified non-contact fuse with three safety locks: transportation, mechanical and electronic to prevent unintended activation. After removing the first safety lock and submerging the device, the second safety lock is activated.

The shape of the mine, as well as its completely non-magnetic structure and special antisonar camouflage coating(optional), ensure that it merges with the environment and hard to detect.
