1. The main purpose of the training on subject: “Protection and security of infrastructure objects”, is to provide extended knowledge on creation of preliminary organization for building and management of object, complex system for protection and security for prevention and overcoming of state of emergency as a result of terrorist activity, as well as:

• Acquisition of thorough knowledge in the field of policy, means and systems for specialized protection;
• Gaining skills for risk assessment and resolving complex problems in state of emergency as a result of terrorist acts;
• Acquisition of practical skills for decision making and reacting in providing protection and security of infrastructure objects;
• Formation of practical habits and skills to perform technical estimations in the management bodies;
• Mastering of developed in Bulgaria modern facilities, techniques, technologies and innovative solutions for protection.

2. The trainee should be prepared to acquire unaided further knowledge and skills in connection with the dynamic development of the threats of terrorist acts against infrastructure objects.

3. On accomplishment of the trainees should know:

• The nature and contents of the basic normative documents;
• The modern understandings for struggle against bomb terrorism;
• The main characteristics and methods for identification, neutralization and deactivation of basic groups of explosive devices (incl. Produced in Bulgaria);
• To identify the risks in infrastructure objects and to perform analysis and assessment for their management;
• To plan, organize and manage the protection of infrastructure objects;
• The leading technologies in the field of the signaling & protection systems and the systems for protection, video observation and access control.

4. On accomplishment of the training the post graduate students should be able to:

• Organize and manage the processes concerning creation of infrastructure object protection;
• Plan, organize, manage and control the participation of forces and facilities in counteraction against terrorist acts;
• Control social processes by getting oriented, making decisions and acting effectively in qualitatively different situations and dynamically varying risks and threats;
• Use the advanced technologies in the field of the signaling & protection systems and the systems for protection, video observation and access control and achieve success in the realization of the concrete tasks concerning infrastructure object protection.

5. Main tasks of the training:

• Study of current concepts for management in case of crises as a result of terrorist acts and development of competence for planning and management of processes in counteraction against terrorist activity;
• Analysis of the topical problems of management in crises as a result of terrorist acts and development of competences for building infrastructure objects protection systems;
• Acquaintance with the modern understandings for national system of management in crises as a result of terrorist activity and national system of critical infrastructure protection;
• Acquisition of practical skills for building infrastructure object protection systems, reaction in state of emergency as a result of terrorist activity, resolving complex problems and decision making in the field of infrastructure objects protection.
