The explosive destruction device EDD-3 is used for mechanical destruction of metal barriers with a thickness of up to 15mm.
It can be successfully used to destroy unexploded projectiles and mines. The explosive destruction device EED-3 has the following main components:
- Body with a front panel and button controls;
- Electronic-mechanical control unit;
- Warhead with an explosive train.
The fuse of EDD-3 is controlled by a microprocessor system.
Safety during transport and operation is provided by a mechanical transport protection device and an electronic safety timer.
The warhead has been developed in three versions, depending on its effect on the target:
1. Explosive action/destruction by means of the pressure of the detonation wave – a booster charge with 0.4kg TNT equivalent.
2. Penetration and high explosive effect /penetration of a metal barrier with thickness up to 15mm and destruction caused by the pressure of the detonation wave – a booster charge with 0.5kg TNT equivalent.
3. Incendiary effect (incendiary composition with a combustion temperature of 700°C)
